Balancer Alliance Plans
Individual Project Pipeline
Ongoing network relationships and expansion strategies
- Arbitrum
- POC is Radek and their foundation TG: @kubesqrt
- Arbitrum grant has 2.5 months remaining in the form of 75k USDC from May 22nd onwards. Goal is growing eBTC liquidity.
- Radek is interested in potentially becoming a Balancer Alliance member and bootstrapping key ReCLAMM products on Balancer though such as wETH/USDC, wBTC/USDC, and ARB/USDC via an incentive program from their team. This would mean Arbitrum is accumulating veBAL and we can compete with Uni and Fluid on this high revenue pairs
- Converge (POC @N1ckchong is lamentations from Aura) is the Ethena L2 orbit chain on Arbitrum which will bring RWAs via Securitize via Ethenas large LP network. Potential expansion under the Arbitrum umbrella.
- Ethena will not expand sUSDe or USDe liquidity on any networks besides HyperEVM for now.
- Ostium (POC @FlowTraderTM) is an additional RWA platform on Arbitrum which will launch their token in several months. Potential LBP or ReCLAMM candidate if the products are live in time.
- Avalanche Eric Kang @ericxkang in Brooklyn. Head of Defi.
- Goal of grant is to hit 24M TVL by June 10th. We then unlock a final tranche of 1500 wAVAX per week, currently at 1250 / week for the month of May.
- Focuses on this network are growing liquidity actively with Avant, avUSD via Rhett Ship @rhettshipp. They have both avUSD and savUSD and are Avalanche native. Work closely with Euler, Re7, and K3 who are large LPs and lending market curators.
- XSY - Unity @dbmarkley new Ethena-esque stablecoin on Avalanche launching in 1-2 weeks. Growth of stablecoin liquidity. Will be on Pharaohs to start and leverage donations to the pool for yield returns. Technical hurdle or front running issue raised by SC team.
- Agora (AUSD @nvaneck) for chain expansion opportunities or further unboosted liquidity to cannibalize their other markets on Avalanche.
- solvBTC paired with their yield bearing token solvBTC.AVAX is the next pair of interest on the network for growth during this incentive campaign. Pending a rate provider from their team to finalize the pool deployment.
- Potential play for ReCLAMMs and AVAX/USDC being a great innovation fund candidate. Maybe Avalanche can become an Alliance member as well if they have several long or short tail pairs they are interested to incentivize longer term.
- Push on Lido and Rocket to launch here and incentivize their proposed Alliance pools.
- Base @anthonyk_base
- Primarily GHO liquidity so maintaining Tokenlogic relationship, the Base team is helpful with marketing but not much else. Maybe this will change as ReCLAMMs make a splash.
- Leverage the USR pool with Resolv for further partnerships RLP would be a great ReCLAMM pair.
- Seamless team interested to use ReCLAMMS once their leveraged tokens are live. Currently strong relationship with Gauntlet, Morpho, and Lombard for more boosted pools. Great gov token ReCLAMM opportunity as well.
- OP grant to manage as well, watching EURC pool perform
- QuantAMM launch upon us so looping Base in on this is key, keep incentives flowing to them.
- Ethereum
- Any and all correlated assets as they launch of course. In the short term the large LST/LRTs. There is not a list, this is pro-active out reach via twitter, discord, or our network.
- Looping strategy for borrowing V3 ezETH/wstETH pool tokens under discussion with Kratik from Renzo @kratikl. Incentives required most likely for 8-12 weeks.
- Euler is launching by end of may borrows around 3.6% pool should net around 3.2% incentivize the delta between us, Arbitrum, and the Euler. Do we want to do vlAura or hidden hand incentives.
- 2.5 months of Arbitrum grant left, need to align with Euler on timelines.
- Ripple rlUSD coming via Aave boosted paired with aUSDC. Hopefully before I am out. Key people to talk to are the Trident team @aaronlammer
- Rippled rlUSD coming via Aave boosted paired with aUSDC. Hopefully before I am out. Key people to talk to are the Trident team @aaronlammer
- Aave migration over the next 6-12 months. Coordinating there is obvious but this specific pool should be a ReCLAMM we pay incredibly close attention to.
- Dinero team, moving pxETH to a boosted pool still a pain point; would push on them to do pxETH-aWETH as well as moving the DINERO token to a ReCLAMM.
- Same plan for Stakewise as pyrex, but they are much more receptive / mobilized now.
- For ReCLAMMs + Alliance think of LDO and RPL as great opportunities for these teams to host their governance token on Balancer + incentivize + get rev share.
- Dream is one day people create veCLAMMs instead of ve8020s.
- Treehouse Finance will launch their governance token in Q3 roughly, would suggest building up the relationship there. They want to use an 8020 pool, unsure if ve yet but they are interested in ReCLAMMs as well. @EddySongHaoyu
- Etherfi: @thetys0n and @CMountainIV make friends with these guys. They can push money to Balancer via their vaults, weETH and eBTC are huge potential both on Aave, get points pairs etc. Alliance program candidates!
- Cannot stress enough any and all partners using ReCLAMMs even if not on mainnet, Euler, Morpho, Paladin, Gnosis assets, LST/LRT and stablecoin gov tokens as they launch, ETHFI, REZ (not interested), ENA, LINK, list is endless.
- Gnosis Chain
- Essentially does it owns thing, i’d say this relationship is very strong. Keep talking with Netrim and the Backed team primarily here. Getting ReCLAMMs up was driven primarily by this relationship. Then repeating it on Base and other networks with Backed is the big unlock here.
- Drive Gnosis or KPK towards a creative alliance deal whether it is chain wide, or tied to their assets on mainnet.
- Monerium, no contact here but would be great to put pressure on them to fix the double entry point issue to utilize a better pool type for Gnosis pay though V3.
- Fixes are a longer project for them to allow EURE on V3
- New potential networks:
- Monad: Abdul Mike has a great relationship with. They will not launch until end of Q3 but primary team we talk to there is Hyperlane which we can likely do a priority fee hook with.
- Unaware of native projects here to launch with but will get a better idea as launch is closer. Aave, Uni, Curve, Trader Joe all going. Likely Morpho and or Euler as well.
- Large MONAD allocation for Balancer, but they have been pushing on us to match incentives in some way. Would suggest never giving a firm number but launching gauges here for core pools to work properly.
- Polkadot: Up to you guys now. If technical hurdles are too great then don’t bother imo. I do think guaranteed revenue is a lot more important than the general sentiment I received is given credit for. Arbitrum is not on pace to do >200k in DAO revenue like it is was last year, that was heavily incentivized. If its possible to deploy I recommend we swallow our pride and take a risk on the chain. DOT is a top 25 token and we’d be the sweetheart DEX.
- 3B USD worth of DOT is staked currently so we could likely get 5% of that into DEFI but its just an estimate. (1% is 30M)
- Polygon is now interested to do an incentive plan, not until end of June or July though. We must provide them with how much $$ we would need and milestones. Preferably not just TVL based. I suggest if we do want to launch here to do so with ReCLAMMs already locked and loaded with a focus of milestones around number of TXNs routed. More activity is typically a win for both us and the network. Maybe with a volume weighted component to it.
- Chance for Alliance too if you guys are interested. Native teams I know of are only Stader, TrueFi, and then there is compound, morpho, lido and allegedly RWAs coming on chain from their side.
- Will throw same TVL tranches as Avalanche DO THIS WEEK - @Zen Dragon
- TAC, keep an eye on but likely not worth it. Possibly upside if only Curve launches and has no good CL solution for us to deploy without gauges.
- Mode, Fraxtal, ZK Sync, Scroll, and others likely not worth while. Luuk interested to give us OP grants for some odd chains like CELO, Lysk and others but not ironed out on details.
